The Baku Azerneftyag Oil Refinery, part of the Azerbaijan State Oil Company (SOCAR) and the independent exporter of oil products made the first delivery of naphta on 14 September 2005, intended for Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery (former Azerneftyanajag), Azerneftyag told Trend.

The volume of the naphta delivered was about 1800 tons. However, in September Azerneftyag plans to send 90% of the naphta produced to the needs of the Azerkimya State Concern (SC).

Azerneftyag is expected to send some 30,000 tons of naphta to Azerkimya (SC) in September. In August this figure was 26,094 tons.

Azerkimya buys naphta from SOCAR at the price of 842200 AZM (about $184) per 1 ton. However, in case of additional naphta refining at the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery the State Oil Company receives the gasoline, which is sold at the price of $400-450 per 1 ton.

In 2005 Azerneftyag intends to distribute 310,000 tons of naphta on the domestic market of Azerbaijan. 250,000 tons of naphta from this amount will be delivered to Azerkimya, which uses this oil product as the fuel for own facilities, the remaining 60,000 tons will be sent to Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery (former Azerneftyanacag) for additional refining to get gasoline.
