РђIOC WILL DELIVER UPPER STRUCTURES OF NEW PLATFORM TO SEA THIS WEEK

The Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) plans to deliver and install in the sea (off-shore) the upper structures of the platform, which will be placed in the western part of the “Azeri” oil field, AIOC told Trend. This platform is designed for oil and the associated gas production in the framework of the “Azeri-Chirag-Gyuneshli” (ACG) project.

Developing of the western and eastern parts of the “Azeri” field is implemented in the framework of the project “Phase-2” of the full-scale development of the ACG block. "Phase-2" schedules construction of two platforms, with each of them per 48 wells will be drilled.

Production of the first oil within "Phase-2" is scheduled for mid- 2006. Over 20 million tons of oil a year will be produced from the two platforms. Totally 210 million tons of oil is projected to produce for the entire period of this Phase implementation.

The Azerbaijani-American Joint Venture CDC performs drilling of the 6-th advance well from the drilling rig “Dede-Gorgud” at the eastern “Azeri”. The design well’s depth exceeds 4000 meters.
