PRESIDENTS OF AZERBAIJAN AND KAZAKHSTAN ARE SUBMITTED INTER-GOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT ON BTC FOR CONSIDERATION

Presidents of Azerbaijan and Kazahstan have been submitted for consideration the intergovernmental agreement on joint oil pumping through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline. The head of the Azerbaijan State Oil Company (SOCAR) Natig Aliyev told journalists on 11 October 2005, the intergovernmental agreement with Kazakstan has been initialed at the level of working groups, Trend reports.

В"The agreement has been submitted to the Presidents of both countries for consideration. The elaboration of the transport agreement is currently underway, the SOCAR head specified.

The Kashagan stockholders committed themselves to pump 7,5 million tons of oil through BTC since 2008-2009. The BTC oil pipeline’s capacity is 50 million tons of oil a year.
