Illegal construction of dwelling and amenity objects close to the high voltage electrical transmission lines causes problems for Azerenerji JSC, the head of the electrical power supply department of Azerenerji Hadjimurad Abdullayev told journalists on 14 October, Trend reports.

According to him, the department applied to the government with the request to examine such illegal facts. Relevant appeals have been forwarded to the law enforcement bodies.

"In accordance with the edict of the Cabinet of Ministers, the backbone transmission lines are enclosed by the relevant safety stripes. Despite this, the local municipalities distribute the land plots for building objects or growing of plants”, he said.

Abdullayev noted, the JSC specialists examine the safety stripes and reveal illegal facts. Up to now over 2200 facts are defined and they are fraught with possible risks. Such cases are recorded in Sabunchi, Azizbekov, Surahani, Nizami districts.

Abdullayev also noted basic reconstruction at the backbone transmission lines of 1500 km total length has been conducted by Azenerji for preparations to the winter season 2005-2006.

"It allows us to say, there will be no essential power failures in energy supply in winter”, Abdullayev said.
