Azerenerji JSC plans to commission 220-kV substation “Salyan” in 2006

The Azerenerji Joint Stock Company (JSC) plans to commission 220-kV substation “Salyan” in 2006 for improvement of energy cross-flows between Azerbaijan and Iran, JSC told Trend.

The Salyan substation location site has been identified. The substation is to provide more qualitative energy supply of Salyan and Bilasuvar regions of Azerbaijan. The substation is also one of the main links of the energy chain Azerbaijan-Iran under establishment.

Construction of the high-voltage electrical transmission lines is also planned in the framework of the project. The contract for allocation of the $75 million loan was signed on 22 April 2005 in Baku.
