The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) finished drilling and temporarily conserved the third production well в"- 170 on the “West Absheron” area.
The well’s design depth is 800 meters, SOCAR told Trend. Drilling of a new well в"-171 with the design depth of 780 meters has been commenced. The works are performed from the drilling platform “Khazar-4”.
Non-availability of the platform in the “West Absheron” area does not make possible extracting of hydrocarbons here. In future SOCAR plans to construct here a number of platforms, however, large funds are needed for that. One of the alternatives is re-profiling of the “Khaza-4” drilling platform into production one. 5-6 tons of oil are expected to produce here from the wells drilled here.
