From October 6-8, Baku will host the 5th Education and Career international exhibition, the biggest event in the region for educational services, career advice and youth employment. Education and Career is the only exhibition in the field of education that is officially supported by Azerbaijan's Ministry of Education. The exhibition is organised by Iteca Caspian LLC and its partner, ITE Group PLC . P roject manager Khayal Aliyeva will speak about the project in her interview.
This year the Education and Career exhibition turns 5 years old. How did the idea for this project arise? Has the exhibition been changed over the last five years?
First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate school pupils, parents, teachers and students on Knowledge Day and the start of the new school year! I hope the whole academic year will be successful for all of you and I wish you all good health.
Returning to your question, for Iteca Caspian the Education and Career project is relatively new, yet very interesting. At this stage , Azerbaijan more than ever needs professional workers, and by creating this project we are focusing on youth employment and education. After all, our exhibitors are schools, universities and courses, which provide an opportunity to receive a good education. The first few years of the exhibition were the most difficult, as we were just developing the market. At the first exhibition there were about 20 companies from 4 countries , and it was held in the Hotel Europe. Now the exhibition occupies a large area. And most importantly, it is the only education exhibition in Azerbaijan that is held in a professional venue - Baku Expo Cent re .
What new features will be there at the exhibition?
This year , the exhibition will feature over 100 educational institutions from 15 countries. The main focus will be on the 'Higher Education' and 'Language Skills Improvement' sectors, which will receive visitors aged 16 and older. U niversity programmes , B achelor ' s and Master's degrees, MBA 's, PhD's , summer schools and language courses will form the basis of the exhibition . Recent e xhibitions have seen a lot of interest in the project from national groups . The Turkish pavilion at this year ' s show will present 20 universities, and the Lithuanian national group will feature 11 universities. Universities from Northern Cyprus are also expected to participate as a group . T he exhibition will also present national groups from Belarus , Ukraine and the UK, and educational institutions from the UAE, Canada and Switzerland. As for local companies , this year the regular exhibitors have increased the size of their stands, and will mainly present overseas educat ion .
How does the exhibition differ from other projects of this kind? What benefits will exhibitors have while participating in the exhibition?
There are a number of events relating to the educational sphere in the country. However, Education and Career differs in that it is , from a professional point of view, an actual exhibition. As I said above, it is the only event of this kind in Azerbaijan that is held in a specialised exhibition venue. Also o f great importance is the support of government bodies: the exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan. In addition, our company has been working in the market for a long time , has a permanent office in Baku and has experienced staff . It is difficult to match our capabilities in marketing and organi s ation. T he organi s ation of the exhibition is accompanied by well-planned advertising campaign to attract visitors (over 10 ,000 visitors). And so, by participating in this project, exhibitor s can count on all the unique opportunities provided by an exhibition as a marketing tool.
What is required for successful participation in the exhibition?
In my opinion, the most important thing is to clearly define the purpose of your participation. Some participants come to the exhibition unprepared, which leads to the returns from the event not meeting their expectations. A well-planned PR campaign, wide range of services, properly organised stand and, most importantly, well-trained staff - these are some of the rules for effective participation in the show. For our part, as organisers we are open to any form of communication with potential exhibitors in order to maximise the effectiveness of their participation in the exhibition.
