A blast furnace plant caught fire in Kazakh city of Temirtau, Kazinform reported referring to the regional Department of Emergency Situation. The plant belongs to a large Metallurgical Company ArselorMittal Temirtau.

A blast furnace plant caught fire in Kazakh city of Temirtau, Kazinform reported referring to the regional Department of Emergency Situation. The plant belongs to a large Metallurgical Company ArselorMittal Temirtau.

"A blast furnace plant of ArcelorMittal Temirtau caught fire on February 5, 2012 at 17.32. The fire was extinguished at 19:07. No victims and injuries are reported," the regional Department of Emergency Situation said.

According to the instruction manual, a blast furnace number 3 transferred into quiet running, presumably up to three days. Following this fact, furnace gas and iron production was reduced.
