Business circles in Uzbekistan and Malaysia have discussed economic and investment cooperation, including the Navoi free industrial economic zone (FIEZ) Navoi during the Uzbek-Malaysian Business Forum, the Jahon news agency said on Tuesday.
The Business Forum, organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic and the Malaysian Association of Exporters Mehra, took place during the visit of Uzbek delegation in Kuala Lumpur.
Malaysian businessmen have expressed interest in joint development projects for poultry farming, fish farming, rice, and fruit and vegetable processing development in Uzbekistan.
Executive Secretary of MEXPA Co. Si Tyang informed about the interest of the Malaysian business community to explore possibilities of mutually beneficial joint projects and noted the great potential in the development of bilateral trade.
The Uzbek delegation visited the government and private fruit farms in the vicinity of Kuala Lumpur, get acquainted with the technology of cultivation of tropical fruits and palm oilseed plants during the visit.
