The Caspian-European Integration Business Club (CEIBC) continues arranging events dedicated to the development of tourism. The following third enlarged session ("Development of tourism field in Azerbaijan") of the Caspian-European Tourism Club has taken place today (November 5) in Baku with participation of representatives of government structures and business.

The session was held under the chairmanship of Aydin Ismiyev, Deputy Head of the Tourism Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Participating in the meeting were representatives from government structures Nazim Majidov, Deputy Head of the Department of the Seafront Boulevard, and Najaf Guliyev, Deputy Head of the Tourism Department, Administration of the State Historical-Architectural Reserve Icheri shekher (Inner city) under the Cabinet of Ministers.

Aydin Ismiyev spoke about the work that ministry does for tourism development in Azerbaijan. Prospects of expansion of information cooperation within the framework of implementation of tourism projects were discussed at the meeting. Honorable guests listened (in the format of business forum) to problems and proposals of companies which are engaged in the tourism sphere.

According to A.Ismiyev, the peak inflow of tourists to Azerbaijan is observed in summer months whereupon a decline is observed throughout the rest part of the year. Therefore, it is necessary to develop projects so that tourists could arrive in Azerbaijan throughout the whole year, he noted. He noted about the ongoing construction of skiing resort in Shakhdagh that will raise the number of tourists in winter.

A.Ismiyev emphasized that 4 and 5 star hotels built in Azerbaijan fully meet the demand of the country for coming years. "However, now there is a need for construction of 3 star hotels which would provide services both in Baku and in the regions of the country", he said.

Nazim Majidov spoke about reconstruction work that is carried out in the Seafront Boulevard. According to him, the decision on expansion of the boulevard in both directions (till the Nobel avenue from one side, and till the state flag square from the other side) had already been made.

He also noted about importance that is attached to the personnel affairs. "The attention should be paid to each tourist so that to make him feel satisfied. That is what our principle is", he said. According to him, if all hotels, resort centers and other tourist facilities follow these principles, then every tourist will be satisfied and visit the country again. So it will promote the development of the sphere.

Najaf Guliyev spoke about the work done by the Administration of the State Historical-Architectural Reserve Icheri shekher and favorable conditions created here for reception of foreign tourists.

While delivering a speech at the meeting, Alexander Mishenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Azerbaijan, spoke about advantages of development of sports orientation and proposed to develop this direction in Azerbaijan.

Addressing the meeting Telman Aliyev, President and CEO of the Caspian-European Integration Business Club (CEIBC), noted that Caspian Energy International Media Group and CEIBC are about to commence the implementation of the Caspian Energy Club project. Caspian Energy Club is a multi-level discount program which will operate in 50 countries worldwide, provide discounts and other privileges. According to him, it will be an additional incentive for attraction of tourists.

He also presented information about CEIBC and noted that the given meeting was held in the business format for discussion of concrete issues. According to him, CEIBC was established in June 2002 under an active support of Caspian Energy International Media Group and large oil-gas companies operating in the Caspian-Black Sea region. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has been an honorary chairman of CEIBC since 2002.

Right from its establishment CEIBC promotes drawing of oil industry revenues toward the development of the non oil sector.
