Managing Director of Iran's National Petrochemical Company Abdolhoseyn Bayat said Iran has managed to produce 5 billion liters of gasoline this current year (ends on March 21), IRNA reported.

We do not have any problems in the petrochemical sphere, as we already have our own facilities, he said, bringing up urea fertilizer as an example.

"A few years ago Iran participated in an international tender to buy urea fertilizer, however we were denied by one of the countries," Bayat said.

Currently, according to Bayat, Iran has no need to purchase urea fertilizers from outside the country, as it can produce it within Iran.

Iran exported 56,000 tons of gasoline valued at $52 million, in the first 11 months of the current Iranian calendar year, which is a 100 percent increase compared to the same period in the previous year despite sanctions which have been imposed on the country.

The country's gasoline output is projected to hit 70 million litres per day by the end of the next Iranian calendar year.
