Azerbaijan ranks second in volume of Turkish investments

The lion share of Turkish investments in January-March 2013 were directed towards the Netherlands and Azerbaijan, according to the report of the Central Bank of Turkey published on its website on Tuesday.

The lion share of Turkish investments in January-March 2013 were directed towards the Netherlands and Azerbaijan, according to the report of the Central Bank of Turkey published on its website on Tuesday.

In the first quarter of 2013, Turkish businessmen invested $297 million dollars in the Netherlands and $94 million in Azerbaijan's economy. According to the report, these countries are followed by Sweden in terms of investment made by Turkey. Investments from Turkish entrepreneurs in the Swedish economy totaled $50 million.

In total, Turkish businessmen invested $ 530 million in other countries in the first quarter of 2013.
The smallest amount of investment for the period was in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Senegal and Kazakhstan. Investments from Turkish entrepreneurs in these countries fell by 83 percent.

Of the total investment in the first quarter of 2013, the largest amount ($375 million) was made in the services sector and $ 120 million - in the industrial sector.
