Azerbaijan, Baku, Sept. 24 / Trend, A. Akhundov/

In the near future the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Taxes and other relevant entities will resume the installation of POS-terminals in the country, First Deputy Chairman of the CBA Alim Guliyev told journalists on Tuesday.

According to the CBA, at the end of July, the amount of POS-terminals established in the Republic was 36,388 units, while in the previous month there were 37,166 units.

" 37,000 POS-terminals have already been established, funds were spend on them, but when they do not operate, these terminals become dead assets for banks. This explains the decline in interest to install new devices, at the same time banks should have a financial interest in it. However, in the near future, the installation of new POS-terminals across the country will be very relevant," Guliyev said.

According to the rules for installation, use and application of POS-terminals in the country, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers in October last year, the installation of POS-terminals in Azerbaijan to be completed by 2016.

According to Guliyev, till late 2015 POS-terminals will be installed in all villages and towns of the country.
