French companies have shown interest in constructing a tram line in the Azerbaijani city of Ganja, which is located 365 kilometers west of Baku,

French companies have shown interest in constructing a tram line in the Azerbaijani city of Ganja, which is located 365 kilometers west of Baku, the final protocol of the Azerbaijani-French Intergovernmental Economic Commission seventh meeting said on Nov. 26.

The final protocol of the meeting was signed in Baku on Tuesday.

The protocol said that French companies are also interested in participating in the construction of the Baku subway lines, in creation of the signaling system and providing it with other necessary equipment.

French companies Alstom and Thales also noted their interest in supplies of modern signaling systems and railway transport as part of the state program for development of the railway system in Azerbaijan in 2010-2014.

Also, during the meeting the sides stressed a need to implement all necessary measures to speed up the process of signing agreements on international road transportations between Azerbaijan and France, as well as the protocol on the implementation of this agreement.
