Turkmenistan considers small aircraft procurement in Europe

The small aircraft development program in Turkmenistan envisages the construction of new airports in the regions and the purchase of relevant aviation equipment, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported on Saturday.

This project is planned to be carried out in two stages. The airports will appear in Atamyrat and Magdanli cities of Lebap region, Khazar and Karabogaz cities of Balkan region, Koneurgenc city in Dashoguz region from 2014 to 2016. The new aerodromes will be constructed in such sparsely populated settlements as Gazachak, Esenguli, Kalaymor, Serahs and Tedjen in the future.

"Modern airliners of Turkmenistan Airlines will fly within the country ensuring air traffic with many regional centers in the country," according to the article.

"After reviewing the aircraft performance data, the aircraft and its price, Turkmenistan Airlines specialists chose French ATR-42 -600 and Czech- L- 410," according to the article. "They meet the highest requirements."

The previously built airports in Magdanli, Gazachak, Khazar, Karabogaz and Esenguli, Koneurgenc in Dashoguz region, Serahs - Ahal province, Kalaymor - Mary province have been recently analyzed, according to the article.

The peripheral airport construction projects were worked out.

They envisage the construction of new aerodromes with runways with the length of 2,000 meters in cities and regional centers.
