Around 54 enterprises with UAE capital, 96 projects worth $5.276 million and 5.1 million euros have been registered in Turkmenistan, according to an article published in the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper citing the data from the International Information Department under the Foreign Ministry.
Turkmenistan imports various goods, high-tech products and equipment from the UAE.
UAE business circles purchase raw materials in Turkmenistan and finished products created in the country, according to the article.
'Turkmenistan is interested in UAE's developed transit transport and communication infrastructure, balanced economic and investment government policy and the experience of development in other sectors of the economy and social sphere according to the article.
The two countries have great potential for cooperation in attracting and protecting investments, oil and gas fields and using renewable energy sources, transport, tourism, education and culture.
Turkmenistan and the UAE attach great importance to cooperation as being part of the UN and other international organisations. The UAE is the co-author of the UN General Assembly Resolution 'Reliable and stable transit of energy resources and its role in sustainable development and international cooperation'. The UAE supported Turkmenistan in its election to both the UN's ECOSOC and UNESCO, according to the article.
Director of the International Cooperation Department of the UAE Ministry of Economy Noura Jasem Al Nowais stressed that partnership in oil and gas, energy, agricultural, transport and communication areas has been intensified as part of the activity of the committee on Turkmenistan-UAE joint cooperation.
