Investments in non-oil sector of Azerbaijani economy increase by over 8 percent

Around 14.59 billion manat was invested in the development of Azerbaijan's social and economic spheres in January-November 2013, which is 14.8 percent more than in the same period of last year, according to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.

The volume of investments in construction and installation work increased by 26.7 percent and amounted to 9.69 billion manat (66.4 percent of the total volume). Around 7.383.9 billion manat was invested in the construction of production facilities and about 7.208.4 billion manat was invested in non-production facilities, according to the State Committee.

Around 74.1 percent of the total volume of investments fell to domestic investments. They increased by 10.2 percent during a year. A significant part (79.2 percent) of domestic investments fall to the state enterprises and organizations and 20.8 percent fall to the private enterprises.

Around 5.916.7 billion manat (40.6 percent of the total volume of investments) were invested in fixed capital at the expense of funds of enterprises and organizations, 749.8 million manat (5.1 percent) - bank loans, 6.890.6 billion manat (47.2 percent) - budgetary funds, 491.6 million manat (3.4 percent) - off-budget funds' resources, 408.5 million manat (2.8 percent) - the population's income and 135.1 million manat (0.9 percent) - other resources.

About 70.7 percent (7.336.6 billion manat) of funds invested in the fixed capital were transferred to the development of the non-oil sector. Around 3.042.2 billion manat (29.3 percent) were invested in the oil sector of the country. The investments in the country's non-oil sector increased by 8.2 percent and by 33.9 percent in the oil sector.

About 43.8 percent of investments fall to the industry, 20.4 percent - transport and storage facilities, 3.5 percent - agriculture, 7.5 percent - real estate operations, 6.8 percent- public administration, 3.3 percent - recreation, entertainment and culture, 3.3 percent- construction, 1.1 percent - communication and information, 4.7 percent - education, 1.2 percent - rendering the administrative and additional services, 1 percent - trade, 0.4 percent - tourist accommodation and public catering, 0.1 percent - financial, insurance, professional, technical and scientific activity, according to the report.
