The increase in the dollar's exchange rate in Turkey is a temporary phenomenon, the country's Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan said, Anadolu agency reported on Jan.24.

Currently, the appreciation of the U.S. currency is observed not only in Turkey, but also in Russia and Latin American countries, according to Babacan.

The deputy prime minister stressed that the increase in the dollar's exchange rate will not affect the country's economy.

According to the Central Bank of Turkey, the official exchange rate on Jan.24 is 2.2741 TRY/USD, which is a record indicator in the last ten years.
