Top-10 Azerbaijani insurance companies fees change

The Azerbaijani Finance Ministry has announced the outcome of 10 leading insurance companies' activity for January, 2014. They account for 88 percent of the total volume of insurance fees. Some 28 insurance companies and one reinsurance company operated in Azerbaijan during the reported period.

Paşa Sığorta as in previous months led the ranking in terms of insurance premiums which accounted for 38.6 percent.

The second and third places in the ranking are taken by Atəşgah Həyat with nearly 13 percent of all market fees and Ipək Yolu Siğorta with 12.1 percent.

In January, the TOP- 10 in terms of insurance premiums included all three companies that have right to deal with life insurance in Azerbaijan, namely Atəşgah Həyat, Qala Həyat and Paşa Həyat.

The total volume of premiums amounted to 61,131 million manat in January, 2014, a 13.38 percent growth per year, while payments in this period hit 8,076 million manat, a 15.37 percent growth.

The Azerbaijani Finance Ministry's report does not include figures of the only reinsurance company AzRE.

The official exchange rate is 0, 7844 AZN/USD on Feb.17.
