In December 2013 the unemployment level in Turkey rose by 0.1 percent compared with the same period of 2012, and amounted to 10 percent, according to a message posted on March 17 on the website of Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
The number of unemployed in Turkey in December last year was 2,809 million.
On December 1, 2013 the population of Turkey was 75,627,384.
Some 93 percent of the total able-bodied population are working in the private sector and seven percent in the state sector.
