Uzbekistan, Bangladesh sign contracts for $ 100 million

Uzbekistan and Bangladesh signed contracts and agreements for the supply of Uzbek goods to Bangladesh in the amount of more than $100 million, according to the press-service of the Ministry for Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The documents were signed in the framework the official visit of the Uzbek delegation to Dhaka at the end of last week.

The ministry did not report which products and how much will be delivered to Bangladesh under the signed contracts.

During the visit of the Uzbek delegation headed by Minister Elyor Ganiev held talks on expanding mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation with the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina, Minister of Commerce Tofail Ahmed, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, the heads of the Association of manufacturers and exporters of textile products of leading Bangladeshi companies, the statement said.

The representatives of Uzbekistan and Bangladesh discussed the organization of long-term and direct systemic supply of cotton for the needs of the textile industry in Bangladesh, as well as exports of cars, agricultural machinery, fertilizers, chemicals and other products in the Bangladeshi market.

The Bangladesh side also expressed interest in the development of mutually beneficial cooperation in the sphere of production of textile products and pharmaceuticals in Uzbekistan.

Following the visit, the sides agreed to further development of joint projects under development in various sectors of the economy.
