Iran seeks to boost ties with Pakistan

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif held a meeting in Tehran on May 11.

During the meeting the two sides discussed possible ways to boost bilateral relations, Iran's IRIB News Agency reported.

Nawaz Sharif arrived in Tehran on Sunday morning on an official visit aimed at strengthening political and economic ties with Iran.

During his two-day stay, the Pakistani premier will hold talks with high-ranking Iranian officials.

The two sides are expected to sign several agreements for cooperation in various sectors.

This is Nawaz Sharif's first trip to Iran since he was elected prime minister last June.
