Over 10,000 people will participate at the seventh Astana Economic Forum in Kazakhstan, Serik Nugerbekov, a member of the Senate (upper house) of Kazakh parliament said on May 14.

Nugerbekov, who is also a co-chair of the Eurasian Economic Club of Scientists Association, made the remarks at a press conference in Astana, Kazakhstan.

"Over 10,000 people will participate at the Astana Economic Forum. To date, some 10,000 participants have been registered. Around 300 of them are citizens from nearly 150 countries," he said.

Nearly 70 major events with participation of around 100 co-organizers will be held during the forum, according to the Senate member.

"The UN Conference on Trade and Development, Davos Economic Forum, the International Trade Centre, the World Trade Organization and the International Organization for Migration will actively participate at the forum," Nugerbekov added.

He underscored that the seventh Astana Economic Forum will allow to popularize and promote the EXPO-2017 mega-project.

"Moreover, there will be held a series of events dedicated to the Great Silk Road," Kazakh Senate member stressed.

Kazakh capital will host the seventh Astana Economic Forum and the second World Anti-Crisis Conference on May 21-23, 2014.

The events will be held with the support of the UN.

The seventh Astana Economic Forum is an event to be attended by the leaders of the world expert community - representatives of world politics, business, major international organizations and multinational companies, Nobel laureates, as well as prominent scientists and economists.
