Over 4,000 business entities register in Georgia in May

Some 4,082 entrepreneurship facilities have been registered in the country in May, some 96.5 percent of which are individual entrepreneurs, limited liability companies (LLC), joint stock companies (JSC), cooperatives, branches of foreign legal entities, according to the Georgian National Agency of Public Registry. The remaining 3.5 percent accounted for entities - non-entrepreneurial legal entities, branches of foreign non-business entities.

The index of business registration in Georgia was 0,933 in May (the figure was 1,00 in December, 2010).

In May 2014, the index of business registration in Georgia decreased by 3.1 percent compared to April, 2014 and compared to May 2013 - increased by 7.3 percent.

In May, the number of businesses facilities in Georgia decreased by 3.8 percent compared to the previous month, while the number of non-business entities - increased by 20.5 percent, the national agency reported.

The number of businesses entities in the country grew by 7.6 percent, and non-business entities decreased by 1.4 percent in May, compared to the same period last year.
The registration indexes of business and non- business entities in Georgia totaled 0,927 and 1,110 respectively in May.

The most of the registered businesses entities in the country during the reported period are the individual entrepreneurs (2,337 persons, or 67.3 percent of the total number of businesses) and limited liability companies (1,640 units, or 37.7 per cent).
