The official exchange rate of dollar set by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) amounted to 0.7842 AZN / USD on June 12, repeating the minimum recorded in the beginning of the year.
For the first time the dollar rate dropped to this point in late January and hit around 0.7842 manat per dollar within two days. The current exchange rate has remained unchanged for the third day.
The volume of currency interventions conducted by the Central Bank to keep the stable rate was $536 million in the first quarter of this year.
The bank will conduct intervention in the amount of $1.5-2 billion this year - the same as for entire 2013, deputy chairman of the Central Bank Khagani Abdullayev said.
