Four Russian regions show interest in hosting 6th Azerbaijani-Russian interregional forum

The volume of trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia grows steadily, Minister of Regional Development of the Russian Federation, Igor Slyunyaev said.

He made the remarks at a press conference during the fifth Azerbaijani-Russian interregional forum 'Interregional cooperation: new opportunities for growth' being held in the Azerbaijani city of Gabala on June 23.

"Over 500 people, including the representatives from some 25 regions of Russia are participating in the fifth jubilee forum in Gabala. Not only the improvement in the quantitative indicators, but also the growth of the bilateral trade volume, which exceeds $3.5 billion, makes us glad," he stressed.

Slyunyaev underscored that over 500 companies in the oil and gas, engineering, energy and agricultural sectors have been involved in the bilateral trade.

He said the sixth Azerbaijani-Russian interregional forum will be held in Russia, adding that Ekaterinburg, Ingushetia, the Stavropol region and Dagestan have shown interest in hosting the next forum.

Russian minister praised the level of organization of the forum in Gabala.
