DAMU Entrepreneurship Development Fund JSC of Kazakhstan is ready to offer subsidies to the country's carriers in purchasing trucks, the chairman of the JSC board, Lyazzat Ibrahimova said on July 22.

She made the remarks during the ceremony of signing a memorandum between Kazakhstan's KAZLOGISTICS Transport Union, Kazakhstan Auto Business Association and DAMU.

"We are ready to work out a program jointly with leasing companies in order to subsidize the purchase of trucks. Not only those rendering transport services, but also those purchasing vehicles will be able to get subsidies from Jan.1," Ibrahimova stressed.

The memorandum envisages support to the country's carriers in purchasing trucks, as well as state-subsidized remuneration rates, the volume of guarantees from DAMU JSC and the amount of financing for the projects for purchasing trucks.

The document also stipulates the development of a specialized financing program for Kazakhstan's second-tier banks.

Around 2,500 transport companies with a fleet of more than 14,000 vehicles have been registered in this sphere, according to Kazakhstan's official statistics.

Currently, the country's transport sector is characterized with the high level of depreciation of vehicles.

"With this regard, we intend to create favorable conditions for the development of the transport sector. We will continue our activities in offering subsidies and reducing prices for vehicles," the director of KAZLOGISTICS, Erhat Iskaliev said during the signing ceremony.
