Georgia's foreign trade turnover with CIS countries stood at $1.716 billion in Jan.-June, which is 10 percent more than in the same period of 2013, Georgia's National Statistical Service (GeoStat) said in its report on July 24.
The country has exported around $758 million worth of products (an increase by 11 percent) and imported some $957 million worth of goods (an increase by nine percent) during the reporting period.
The share of CIS countries in Georgia's foreign trade turnover amounted to 31 percent in the first half of 2014. The share of export transactions with the CIS countries stood at 53 percent, while the share of import transactions totaled 24 percent.
Some eight percent of Georgia's trade deficit fell to CIS countries, versus nine percent in the same period of 2013.
