Iran’s non-oil trade balance surpasses $33 bln in 4 months

Iran's non-oil exports (including gas condensates) surpassed $16.1 billion during the 4-month period from March 21, which indicates an increase by 21.14 percent compared to the same months of the preceding year (Iran's fiscal year starts on March 21).

Iran exported some 33.76 million tonnes of non-oil goods during that period which is 13.24 percent more compared to the 4-month period of last year, according to the Iranian Customs Administration's latest report released on Aug. 13.

The country's total exports excluding gas condensates and petrochemicals stood at $6.535 billion, 2.86 percent less compared to the last fiscal year's first 4 months.

Iran exported $5.179 billion worth of gas condensates during that period. Meanwhile, the country's petrochemical exports surpassed $4.383 billion.
Liquefied propane worth $687 million, methanol worth $579 million and liquefied butane worth $535 million also topped the list of Iran's exported non-oil goods.
Iran also imported about $17.655 billion worth of goods during the period, which indicates a rise by 35.78 percent, compared to the 4-month period of the preceding year (21 March, 2013 to 22 July 2013).

China was the main target of Iran's exported goods in the first four months of the current Iranian fiscal year. Some $3.012 billion worth of Iran's exported none-oil goods went to China during the period, 32 percent more compared to same period of preceding year.

Iraq, the UAE, Afghanistan and Turkey were other top importers of Iranian goods during the mentioned period. The countries imported $1.842 billion, $1.235 billion, $716 million and $681 million worth of Iranian goods, respectively.

Turkey's imports from Iran also indicates an increase by 31.63 percent, meanwhile Iran's exports to Iraq and Afghanistan has fallen by 9.34 percent and 21.63 percent respectively.

The United Arab Emirates, China, India, South Korea and Turkey were the leading exporters of goods to Iran. They exported $4.611 billion, $3.879 billion, $1.584 billion, $1.376 billion and $1.173 billion worth of goods to Iran during the period.

The UAE's exports to Iran has increased by 86.1 percent during the period, meanwhile the exports of China, India and Turkey to the country indicates increase by 72.66 percent, 17.41 percent and 8.67 percent respectively in comparison with first four months of last fiscal year.
