Monetary inflation in Azerbaijan stands at 1.8 percent

The consumer products' prices and tariffs for services in Azerbaijan fell by 0.8 percent in July 2014 versus the previous month, while in January-July 2013 the inflation was 1.5 percent, according to a report from the State Statistics Committee.

The report covered the first seven months of 2014.

Food prices fell in July by 2 percent, non-food goods' prices remained unchanged, while tariffs for services went up by 0.2 percent.

In comparison with January-July 2013, the food prices in the seven months of this year rose by 0.9 percent, non-food prices rose by 3.6 percent, and tariffs for services by 0.4 percent.

In July, the base consumer price index, calculated excluding goods and services subject to seasonal changes (fruits and vegetables), and the prices of which are regulated by the state, did not change as compared with the previous month, while in comparison with January-July 2013 this index rose by 1.8 percent.
