Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover decreases

In January-July 2014 the foreign trade turnover with 134 countries amounted to $18.13 billion, which is 9.53 percent less than the same period of last year, says the statistical report of the State Customs Committee (SCC), posted on the website of the department.
In January-July Azerbaijan conducted export transactions in the amount of $13.25 billion and import operations amounted to $4.88 billion.

The largest volume of export of Azerbaijan in January-July 2014 fell on Italy. During the reporting period goods worth $3.207 billion were exported to Italy, which accounts for 23.13 percent of total exports.

Leading positions in export also include: Indonesia ($1.66 billion with a share of 12.55 percent), Germany ($1.06 billion, or 7.97 per cent), France ($0.90 million, or 6.86 percent ) and Israel ($ 0.778 billion, or 5.87 percent). The latter two countries changed spots in July.
The above mentioned countries have a 56.38 percent share in the total export of Azerbaijan.

In January-July 2014 the top five countries in import embraced Russia ($698.038 million) which accounted for 14.29 percent of Azerbaijani import, followed by Turkey - $690.594 million (14.14 percent), Germany - $378.123 million (7.74 percent), China - $370.899 million (7.59 percent) and the United States - $369.133 million (7.56 percent) . In July, China and Germany left behind the United States.

The above mentioned countries have a 51.32 percent share in the total import of Azerbaijan.

Thus, Italy remains the main trade partner of Azerbaijan with a turnover of $3.207 billion, which accounts for 17.69 percent of the total trade of the country, followed by Indonesia - $1.68 billion (9.29 percent), Germany - $1.434 billion (7.9 percent), Russia - $1.082 billion (5.97 percent) and France - $0.997 billion (5.5 percent).

The mentioned countries have a 46.35 percent share in the total trade turnover of Azerbaijan.
