Uzbekistan compensates costs for diesel fuel to raw cotton producers

Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan approved the Regulation on the procedure of compensation of additional costs to agricultural producers on acquisition of diesel fuel in the process of cotton growing for the state needs for the harvest of 2014.

"The decision was made in connection with the unification of prices and the introduction of tax on gasoline, diesel fuel and gas usage for vehicles in accordance with the decree of the President of Uzbekistan "On the prediction of major macro economical indicators and parameters of the state budget of the Uzbekistan Republic for 2014", states the preamble of the document.

According to the government decision, the amount of compensation per tonne of diesel fuel purchased for cotton growing for public use is 200 soums.

"The amount of compensation is calculated on the basis of the established standard of one ton consumption and the limit of diesel fuel, allocated to farms for the harvest of 2014", says the decision.

In order to get the compensation, farms should submit to the commission an application for compensation, copies of contracts for the purchase of diesel fuel and contracts with companies of "Uzhlopkoprom" association.

In early July of this year retail prices for diesel fuel were raised in Uzbekistan.

In particular, the retail price of one liter of diesel fuel increased by 11.7 percent and reached 1.91 000 soums, diesel ECO saw an 11.5 percent increase (1.99 000 soums per liter).

The official exchange rate for August 19 is 2344.38 soums/$ 1.
