Garadagh Metalwork Plant plans to enter the European markets in the next two years, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the plant Rufat Sujaev said Sept.18 during a press tour organized by the Ministry of Economy and Industry of Azerbaijan.
The plant was built in the Sahil village of Garadagh district of Baku on the territory of 4.5 hectares. Its opening took place July 2012 with the participation of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
The total cost of the plant is 8.6 million AZN. A preferential loan of 2 million AZN at the first stage has been allocated for this project by the National Fund for Entrepreneurship. Construction of enterprise began July 2011 and was completed in late June 2012.
"At the moment we are considering the possibility of entering foreign markets. First contract was signed with the customer from Kazakhstan, and we have already started to implement the order for the production of metal. Their mounting will also be implemented by our plant," he said.
In Azerbaijan, the plant is going to participate in the construction of industrial enterprises. Currently, the plant implemented the construction of enterprises in the field of agriculture, tea factories, and animal factories.
He added that Garadagh plant also supplied the party of end products with 10 million metric tons for the construction of the Baku Olympic Stadium, which will host the first European games in 2015.
Steel structures are widely used in the construction of modern factories, manufacturing and processing plants, cold stores and livestock complexes, bridges, sports halls, high-rise residential buildings. The elasticity and the resilience of metal is much higher than that of concrete, and their assembly takes a comparatively short time and requires less costs. They offer great opportunities for further development of the construction industry.
Some 120 people are employed at the factory, which will produce 24,000 metric tons of steel per year.
The construction of additional production buildings is provided at the plant in order to expand the range and increase the volume of production in the future. The plot of the projected production area is 11,970 square meters.
