Around 419 large facilities worth more than $9 billion are planned to be constructed in Turkmenistan by late 2014, an article published in the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper said.
As of the first six months, the investments made in the various segments of the national economy increased by 8.3 percent compared to the same period of last year.
"Turkmenistan achieves impressive success in the implementation of its socio-economic strategy," the article says. "The gross domestic product per capita in the country amounted to $19,000."
Turkmenistan gradually passing to market economy. This was reflected in the constitution. The national currency was denominated. The exchange rates were unified. The country passed to the international accounting standards in 2014.
