About 2 billion tenge ($1 = 181.9 tenge) will be spent on funding of tribal fishery in Kazakhstan since 2016, the executive secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Arman Evniev said Sept.23 at a briefing on the Service central communications.

"Now, funding of breeding stock is provided starting from 2016 under the Agribusiness 2020 program. The program is designed and starting from 2016 under the current budget process, we plan to allocate 1.8 billion tenge to support fish breeding farming industry, in addition to what we have on the investment subsidies," Evniev said.

He said that Kazakhstan is very import-depended in this area today, it imports all livestock by almost 100 percent from abroad.

"At the moment there are only so-called investment subsidies in the fish farming industry for closed water supply projects and the so-called cage farms. Earlier, in 2012, there was a program of the feed funding, but it was found to be ineffective," he said.
