Contracts worth $423 million signed for EXPO-2017 in Kazakhstan

Kazakh National Company Astana EXPO 2017, which is responsible for organization of EXPO 2017 international exhibition in Kazakh city of Astana, has signed investment contracts worth 77 billion tenge ($423 million)

Kazakh National Company Astana EXPO 2017, which is responsible for organization of EXPO 2017 international exhibition in Kazakh city of Astana, has signed investment contracts worth 77 billion tenge ($423 million), Novosti-Kazakhstan reported with the reference to the company's chairman Talgat Ermegiyaev.

"The contracts worth 77 billion tenge (181.93 tenge =$1) have been signed within the investment plan, Ermegiyaev said at the session in Kazakh Majilis (parliament). "I think we will sign more contracts worth 30-50 billion tenge within a month."

The investments will be mainly directed at the construction of residential complexes located outside the territory of the exhibition.

"At the end of the year we will give a clear answer on the amount of investments we can attract," he said.

Ermegiyaev noted that all commercial and residential zones for the exhibition will be built at the expense of the investments.
