Uzbek State Inspection for Flight Safety Supervision and the National Security Service of Uzbekistan introduced a mandatory inspection of electronic media in the country's airports by a special decree, the National Airline "Uzbekiston HavoYullari" said.

Radio and TV equipment, audio-visual equipment, laptops, tablets and mobile phones carried in hand luggage are subject to inspection in accordance with the new rules. The new requirements also apply to aircraft crew members.

Verification of electronic means for aviation safety will be implemented in special rooms of airports equipped with the necessary technical means. Passenger on demand of employee of NSS security department is obliged to switch on the electronic media and to show that it works. However, the new rules prohibit employees of NSS to get the personal information contained in the electronic media.

In case of evasion of passengers from electronic media check-up the carrier is entitled to terminate the contract of carriage, if the crew refuses the check-up it is not allowed to fly.

The new inspection rules, which will operate on a permanent basis, are taken in order to enhance aviation safety in connection with the increased risk of terrorism in the world, according to Uzbek State Inspection for Flight Safety Supervision.
