The average data transfer rate in 3G network in Azerbaijan is 1.7 Mbps, the Azerbaijani Association of Wireless Technology (AAWT) said in a report on Tuesday.
The results are based on tests of 3G-DATA-card working in Azerfon-Vodafone and NarMobile networks.
The speed surpasses the figures of the British 3, Orange, O2, Vodafone and T-Mobile operators by 0.2 Mbps.
According to Ofcom research, the average broadband Internet speed in this country is equal to 1.5 Mbps, and in the zone of better coverage - 2.1 Mbps.
The minimum speed in the 3G network in Azerbaijan is 0.5 Mbps and a maximum - 3.4 Mbps.High data transfer speed was observed in the center of Baku.
The average Internet speed is 3.0 Mbps near the Elmlar Akademiyasi, Ganjlik, Icharishahar metro stations and near the parliament building.
