The broadcasting of Russian television channels via Azerbaijani "Azerspace-1" satellite has began, a source in the Azerbaijani telecommunications market reported.

The broadcasting of Russian television channels via Azerbaijani "Azerspace-1" satellite has began, a source in the Azerbaijani telecommunications market reported.

At present, Mir 24, Karusel, TV Zvezda, Europa Plus TV, STS, TV 3 Russia, "Pyatnica", Life News, A-One, RU TV, Mult, Moskva Doverie and REN TV are broadcasted via the "Azespace-1".

Total number of TV and radio channels broadcasted via "Azerspace-1" satellite exceeds 120 units. The satellite located at the orbital position of 46 degrees east longitude.

In order to view the television content user satellite antennas should be set as follows: Frequency - 11169 MHz, speed: 20400, polarization - Horizontal and FEC - 5/6.

Azerbaijan's first telecommunications satellite Azerspace/Africasat-1a was launched on February 8, 2013. The satellite is designed to render digital television and data transmission services, provide creation of multiservice VSAT networks and ensure government communications.

Azerspace/Africasat-1a satellite's service area includes countries in Europe, the Caucasus, Central Asia, Middle East and Africa.
