Baku, Azerbaijan, July 1
Azercell Telecom announces with a great pride of being provider of mobile communication for all customers at the stadiums and other event venues of Baku 2015 1st European Games.
By providing high-class service and uninterrupted network for many years since its launch, Azercell has been selected telecom provider of such a large-scale international event. Azercell will be the one to install an internal multi-operator system at the major game venues as the Olympic Stadium and the National Gymnastics Arena. An internal multi-operator system has already been set at the latter facility. Similar installation will be provided at the Olympic Stadium upon the completions of the construction works. This unique system to be placed at the stadium is capable to serve more than 80000 subscribers.
We would like to remind that an internal multi-operator system provides all mobile operators to place and operate their radio-base stations at the same time. As Azercell Telecom is the sole provider of the system in these venues, other mobile operators will work only using the system installed by Azercell. We would like to remind that Azercell introduced in-house multioperator mobile system installation in Azerbaijan for the first time. In general, the mobile operator in Azerbaijan was the first to install this system among the countries of TeliaSonera Group Azercell is a part of. On the eve of this remarkable event the leading mobile operator of Azerbaijan also plans to install additional 20 radio-base stations on the Olympic route and in the Olympic village. This will provide the athletes with reliable network both in the residential and training area. In addition, all of the transportation means for the athletes will be also covered with a reliable network. For this purpose Azercell plans to install special mobile Radio-Base Stations as well as the Company will strengthen 3G and 4G networks both in Baku and in the regions.
