As of 2013 Azerbaijan imported ICT equipment in the amount of 203.8 million AZN, the statistical bulletin on the Information Society for 2013 posted on the website of the State Statistics Committee said.
The volume of imports decreased by 18.22 percent compared to 2012, according to the State Statistical Committee.
Some 112.1 million AZN out of the total amount accounted for telecommunications equipment, 50.8 million AZN - computer hardware and peripherals, 18.5 million AZN - electronic equipment and 22.4 million AZN - other ICT equipment.
The specific weight of the ICT equipment in the total volume of imports of the country in 2013 made up 2.4 percent thereby decreasing 27.28 percent.
Over 2013, the companies operating in the ICT sector of Azerbaijan generated value added in the amount of 920.1 million AZN, which is 6.8 percent more than the same period in 2012.
As of 2013 the volume of investments, directed to fixed capital of ICT companies amounted to 192.4 million AZN, which is 37.4 percent lower than a year earlier.
The services have been produced and provided worth more than 1.5 billion AZN in the ICT sector in Azerbaijan, which is 7.6 percent more than in 2012.
