Azerbaijan imported 41,196 mobile phones and other handsets running on wireless networks (tablet computers, cordless phones, etc.) worth over $2 million in the first half of 2014, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee told Trend on August 12.
The number of imported mobile phones decreased 21.09 percent (52,204 mobile phones were imported in 2013) compared to the same period of 2013. In value terms, this index increased by 3.5 percent, the committee said.
On average, the country imported over 6,800 mobile phones each month. A monthly volume of the mobile phone market in terms of value amounted to more than $398,000.
