Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan is preparing a proposal for the creation of a free trade area of high-tech products, the Ministry told Trend Sept.4.
The negotiations on the feasibility of this project are underway with several countries.
"The project is primarily aimed at expanding of the IT market. The matter rests in enabling the business sector to implement free trade in certain types of IT products and services. The project can be launched as a piloted one with one of the countries in the region, for example, with Georgia," the ministry said.
The office also expressed its willingness to assist the local IT companies in the issue of expansion into foreign markets.
Often local IT companies are faced with certain kinds of problems in this regard, and therefore the agency is ready to provide all possible assistance in the resolution of this situation.
"The matter may rest in the possibility of financial aid as well as assistance in dealing with tax and customs duties. Ministry is ready to support the business if the proposals are submitted for consideration," the ministry said.
