Kuwait offered Azerbaijan to set up a joint technical group to develop cooperation in the field of information and communication technologies, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and High Technologies said Oct. 30.

Kuwait's Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah met with Azerbaijani Minister of Communications and High Technologies Ali Abbasov in Baku and proposed to establish a joint technical group, a statement said.

Kuwait's minister stressed his country's interest in developing the relations with Azerbaijan in this sphere, as well as the participation of Kuwaiti IT-companies in the BakuTel-2014 international exhibition and conference (December 2-5). Bakutel leading specialized exhibition and conference will celebrate the 20th anniversary this year.

At present, more than 100 companies confirmed their participation in the exhibition. Among the participants are the leading IT-companies, mobile operators, telecom operators, internet service providers, system integrators, distributors of well-known brands of Azerbaijan. The exhibition will feature the national stands of several countries. Their participation will be supported by the ministry. Much attention will be paid to start-ups. The special stands will be allotted for them this year.

Traditionally, Bakutel-2014 exhibition will include a business program. It will include conferences, workshops, round tables, business and online forums.
