Azerbaijan increases Internet traffic volume by half

The volume of incoming Internet traffic on the network of Azerbaijani primary provider, Delta Telecom, increased by 50 percent and hit 150 gigabits as of 2014, the company's statistics report said Jan. 5.

The dynamics of the network load varies depending on the time of day, with the greatest load in the evening (140-150 gigabits). In the daytime this figure falls to 10 gigabits. This figure falls to 15 gigabits in the morning.

According to Delta Telecom statistics, the outgoing traffic volume increased from 20 to 30 gigabits compared to early 2014.

At present, the total capacity of AzNET segment exceeds 300 gigabits.

Traffic Delta Telecom is divided among 27 telecommunications operators (public and private Internet service providers, mobile operators and others).

As of Jan. 5, the largest amount of Internet traffic delivered to end users fell on the BakinterNet public Internet service provider (29.21 percent). Aztelekom holds second place with 18.52 percent and Uninet (Stream trademark) holds third place with a share of 10.03 percent.

The remaining 42.24 percent are distributed among the companies AlfaNet, Azintex, Eurotelecom, AG Telecom, Avirtel, Azedunet, Caspel, QlobalNet, TransEuroCom, Azerin, AzStarNet, Caspel, MegaTelecom, Smart-Systems, Castel, Azeronline, Stellford (Connect trademark), Nakhchivan, Ultel, Azerphone, Azqtel, DATAPlus, AzEuroTel, Bakcell, Eurocel and Information Technology Center (ITC) of the Ministry of Communications and High Technology of Azerbaijan.
