In June 2015, Turkey will orbit its satellite Turksat-4B, the Anadolu news agency reported citing the head of the Turkish company Turksat.

The carrier rocket with the satellite will be launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. Turksat-4B will provide satellite Internet services.

Turksat-4B, built by the Japanese company Mitsubishi Electric, was handed over to Turkey in June 2014.

Earlier, it was reported that Turkey intends to acquire new satellites.

It is expected that after the orbiting of Turksat-4B, Turkey will acquire two new satellites - Turksat-5A and Turksat-6A.

On December 18, 2012, Turkey launched its second satellite - Gokturk-2 from the Chinese Zhiuguan base. The satellite is used for defense purposes.

Turkey plans to launch the satellite Turksat-3A in 2019.

In 2014, some 53.5 percent of the population had Internet access, according to the Turkish Statistics Institute.

As of December 1, 2014, the population of Turkey was 77,695,904.
