Winners of “Imagine Cup” competition held for first time in Azerbaijan unveiled

The project run by Microsoft Azerbaijan and Nar will play an important role in tapping new talents in the field of innovative technologies.

The Ministry of Communication and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the High Technologies Park, Microsoft Azerbaijan and Nar supported the national final of the Imagine Cup Innovation Competition held for the first time in Azerbaijan. The names of winners were made public.

As many as 20 teams, successfully passing the national qualification tour and the online semifinal, have got a chance to compete in the national final. As it is in the worldwide final, the teams of higher education and vocational schools competed in 3 nominations at the national final: Innovations, Games and World Citizenship.

Winners for each nomination were defined by the professional jury panel. Thus, NoObs team won in the nomination of Innovations with two others gaining the first place in remaining nominations: IDEAlists team in the Games nomination and Mar-Tech team in World Citizenship. Having joined the online semifinal, these teams have presented the project documents to the multinational team of jury. Names of teams to participate in the world final are set to be unveiled on June 1. Winners will be offered the money prizes in the amount of $50,000, $10,000 and $5,000 in the end of contest and joint to the global innovations' accelerator programs.

The main goal of competition is to reveal talents among Azerbaijani students and create optimal conditions for their professional development for future market requirements.
