By Huseyn Valiyev – Trend:

Azerpost LLC, Azerbaijan’s postal operator, has sent a contract project to the Estonian postal administration for the launch of e-money transfers via the STEFI (Secured Transfer of Electronic Financial Information) system, a source in the Azerbaijani postal market told Trend.

It is expected that the contract will be signed in the near future, the source said.

Currently, Azerpost LLC offers money transfer services via the STEFI system to Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Russia, Kazakhstan and Lithuania.

In addition, Azerpost LLC also plans to launch money transfers via the STEFI system to Latvia, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.

The STEFI system was developed by the Postal Technology Center of the Universal Postal Union. The main advantage of this system for the Azerbaijani post is that the revenues received from the transactions within the STEFI system remain at the disposal of Azerpost LLC.
