Azerbaijan and Russia will soon start to study the seismotectonic features of the Greater Caucasus region, Gurban Yetirmishli, director general of the Republican Seismic Survey Center of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), told Trend.
Scientific research will be carried out with a number of countries in line with the decision of the ANAS Presidium, according to him.
“Joint research will be conducted with the Institute of Physics of the Earth of the Russian Academy of Sciences,” Yetirmishli noted.
He said the work will include the study of the seismotectonic features of the southern slope of the Greater Caucasus, including detection of seismic focuses, adding the work will start in the near future.
