COMMUNICATION MINISTRY RECONSTRUCTED 23720 TELEPHONE NUMBERS SINCE YEAR START

Since the start of the current year the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan (MCIT) reconstructed 23720 telephone numbers during January-May 2005. Out of this figure, 14868 telephone numbers fall at the “Aztelecom” Production Unit (PU), 12268 numbers вЂ" at “Baku Telephone Communication” Production Unit, the MCIT told Trend.

Apart from this, the MCIT also reported, that 25 billion, 433,8 million manats have been invested for reconstruction and building of new telephone lines. Aztelecom invested 9 billion, 420,2 million manats in the development of the communication sphere, Baku Telephone Communication - 12 billion, 226,4 million manats, Teleradio - 1 billion, 517,6 million manats, Azerpochta вЂ" 1billion, 201 million manats.

The Ministry’s revenue for this period is 282 billion manats, including collection of payments from the population around 101 billion manats.

For the whole current year the MCIT plans to invest 96,5 billion manats to the Communication sphere of Azerbaijan and to render communication services for the population and organizations - 670,1 billion manats and transfer to the state budget 100 billion manats.
